P4 - Mrs. S McGuinness
Hello and a big warm welcome to Primary 4!
There are 25 wonderful pupils in our class. Our teacher is Mrs McGuinness and our classroom assistants are Mrs Brbora and Miss Duddy.
This year is a special year for us all as we will be making both our First Confession and our First Holy Communion.
During this year, in Maths, we will cover different areas of learning such as number – place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division and fractions, measurement - money, length and perimeter, time, mass and capacity, geometry – properties of shape and statistics.
In literacy we will be exploring various topics through punctuation and grammar, reading, talking and listening and writing. We will be developing our linguistic phonics through our spelling scheme programme where we complete daily activities in class.
Our topics we will be covering include School is Cool, What is the Forecast? Castles, and The Jungle.
Homework is set through Seesaw but is completed in our homework book. We have Literacy homework on a Monday, Wednesday and Maths homework on Tuesday and Thursday. Reading and spellings is set on a daily basis. Children will have a spellings and mental maths quiz, on a Friday, in class.
We have P.E on a Tuesday and Friday. Children may wear trainers to school on these days.
Finally, we will visit Strathfoyle library every Monday.
