P6 - Ms. S McGeady

Welcome to Primary 6 with Mrs. McGeady!

We are delighted to welcome you to our P6 class page. This year, we have 19 fantastic pupils, who are enthusiastic learners and wonderful role models of our school values. Together, we are looking forward to a year filled with growth, creativity and achievement.

In Primary 6, children will engage in a wide range of activities linked the NI Curriculum. They will have opportunities to work both independently and collaboratively, developing essential thinking skills and personal capabilities that will benefit them in and out of the classroom.

We’ll be exploring the Titanic’s maiden voyage and the events surrounding its tragic end. This topic will be brought to life through research, discussion and creative activities. In literacy, we will be diving into the exciting novel The titanic Detective Agency. Pupils will complete comprehension and writing tasks inspired by the story, while also exploring a variety of grammar topics. For numeracy, our focus will be on place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as well as strengthening our quick recall of times tables.

P6 will enjoy two PE sessions each week:

· Swimming lessons on Tuesday afternoons.

· School-based PE on Thursday afternoons.

Children will receive daily homework in:

· Literacy

· Numeracy

· Spellings

· Times Tables

· Reading

Homework should be returned each day.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
