We are thrilled to welcome you to Primary 5! This academic year, Mrs. Casey will be teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Mr. Gilmore will be teaching from Wednesday to Friday. Our aim is to build upon the children's existing literacy and numeracy skills while delving into exciting new areas of the curriculum.

 

Our new topic, 'Space,' promises an exhilarating journey through the Solar System. In literacy, we will explore various genres, encouraging children to develop their creative writing through imaginative stories, reports, and poetry. For numeracy, we will strengthen understanding of Number, Data Handling, Measurement, and Problem-Solving strategies, following the White Rose Maths program.

 

We are excited to introduce 'Reading Eggs,' a brand new resource we are confident the children will thoroughly enjoy. This year also marks a focus on developing ICT skills, with mastery of apps such as Adobe Creative Cloud, G Suite, Minecraft, Just2easy, and Microbots.

 

We are fortunate to have the support of our wonderful classroom assistants: Miss Doherty, Miss Deans, Mr. McLoughlin, and Ms Furey.

 

We anticipate a productive and fun-filled year for all our amazing pupils. Here's to another fantastic term of learning, creativity, and discovery!
