P2/3 - Ms. N Norris
Welcome to Primary 2/3!
We are delighted to welcome you to our Primary 2/3 class! Our teacher is Miss Norris, and we have a wonderful group of 21 children who are excited to learn and grow together this year.
In Literacy, we focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and talking and listening. Primary 2 children will continue learning initial sounds, blending, and reading keywords, while Primary 3 pupils will develop fluency and comprehension through Accelerated Reading. Story time is a favourite part of our day, and we encourage families to read together at home to support progress.
In Numeracy, we begin each lesson with mental maths and fun counting songs. Primary 2 will work with numbers to 20 and beyond, while Primary 3 will explore numbers to 100 with a focus on place value. Across the class, we’ll learn about shape, measure, time, money, and data handling through practical and written activities.
Our World Around Us topics include exciting themes such as bones, our local area, pirates and minibeasts. These topics help us explore geography, history, and science in a fun and meaningful way.
Play-based learning continues to be an important part of our day for our younger learners. Indoor and outdoor play sessions help us develop creativity, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
Reminders:
Please bring a healthy snack and water/milk for break
A warm coat with a hood is needed every day
We’re looking forward to a fantastic year full of learning, laughter, and new adventures!
